Welcome to the home page of the Rochester, NY local section of the American Chemical Society. The ACS is the world’s largest scientific organization, representing nearly 160,000 members worldwide. The Rochester Section serves Monroe, Orleans, Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Wayne and Wyoming counties in western New York.
There are currently over 900 members of the section, many of whom work for employers such as Eastman Kodak, Xerox, Bausch & Lomb, the University of Rochester and many other smaller companies. The Section is also the home of the prestigious Harrison Howe award, presented annually to a scientist with an outstanding record of accomplishment and who holds great promise for further achievement.
The Rochester Section is one of the most active ACS local sections, and sponsors a wide variety of professional, educational and outreach activities for the benefit of its members and the general public. Bookmark this page and check it often to keep apprised of new events and information.
