This event is free and open to the public. The lecture will be followed by a reception at 8:15 PM in the Peckham Hall lobby.
Abstract: Transparent Materials develops and markets multifunctional inorganic nanoparticles that are integrated into polymers to provide materials for tooth and bone replacement. These composites are stronger, more durable, and improve the biocompatibility of the implant within the patient. The company has developed a unique manufacturing technology, holds several key patents, and continues to innovate within the dental materials industry. The company is heavily focused on innovation and often partners with large corporations to commercialize technologies. This talk will focus equally on the founders’ experiences in creating and building a materials business in New York State, and the chemistry and materials technology developed for applications in dentistry.
